Students are also given the opportunity to develop an understanding of the factors affecting the lives of older adults from a multidisciplinary perspective. The content examines: overview of population aging; theories and research in social gerontology; aging from physical, psychological and sociological perspectives; normal and pathological changes as people age; health in later life; families and social support; caregiving; and issues concerning the end of life.
