Credit Weight: 0.5 Description: Principles and practices in portable wood milling through classes detailing wood structure, wood properties in the tree, variability in wood properties along the length of a tree, growth stresses (recognition and dealing with them), growth and sawing defects and how to use this information to aid in milling. Milling training will include the basis of portable milling, portable mills, production on a mill, sawing techniques, maximizing recovery and custom sawing.
